CARD MEANING
___________
Upright: This card represents a transition in your life. It can be a literal transition such as moving to a new location, traveling overseas, or flying in a plane. Or it may represent a transition in life phases, moving on from the past and into something new. The boat over the water may indicate sailing into the subconscious mind, sorting through past thoughts and feelings in order to move on. You may be at a place where you are capable of thinking about past events in a new light in order to overcome their emotional affects and burdens. This card indicates that the move is away from the tumultuous past and towards a brighter, clearer future.
Reversed: If this card is pulled in a reverse position, it may indicate that you are not moving on. You are carrying around the pain of past traumas or experiences which are weighing you down and holding you back. Unable to stay afloat in your own thoughts, you find yourself stagnant and unable to go further in your development. You feel stuck and alone, clinging to old ways of thinking. In a more literal sense, the reversed 6 of Swords may be telling you that a move or travel plans will be delayed or that there will be many unpleasant bumps along the way. Consider postponing travel at this time, especially if traveling overseas.
